Anne  Bonine

I’m a retired High School teacher who wanted to be artsy but was “afraid.” One day, 4 years ago, I saw a sketching demonstration by a wonderful retired U of O professor.  Sketching was the answer - quick, simple, small, on location and on any subject.  I fell in love!

I’m an outdoorsy person and I live for the moment -

sketching is my “in the moment” art outlet.  Being a hands on learner, seeing something and immediately sketching it is a perfect way for me to remember.

Now I’m on sketchbook #8 and carry one with me all the time - hiking, birding, biking, in airports - it’s my journal, my diary.  I use pen and ink, and sometimes a light wash.  It’s a way of life for me.
